col_jeffer
Im thinking of buying the 300V (ti rebel) to replace my old and trustful Olympus OM- 2 with T32 flash (TTL). So I was wondering if I could use this T32 flash with the 300V, is it possible or should I think of buying a new flash?
julianradowsky
The Canon DSLRs do not support TTL flash (no off the film sensor), they only support manual or ETTL. So, use your flash in manual mode, or buy a Canon EX series flash.
col_jeffer
Ok, thaks for your quick reply. In the 300V's technical spesifications ( http://www.canon-europe.com/For_Home/ Product_Finder/Cameras/SLR/EOS_300V/ index.asp?specs=1 ) it however says: "- E-TTL autoflash program AE - A-TTL autoflash program AE - TTL autoflash program AE " What does that "AE" mean in the end? mark u
Julian thought you were considering a digital body. The film body will operate with ordinary TTL flash metering, but you need to check the flash trigger voltage and ensure it is no more than 6V to avoid frying the 300V's electronics. An E-TTL flash does offer more subtle flash control than available with ordinary TTL. Be sure to invest in lenses that justify the switch - the kit zooms will seem very disappointing against the results from OM prime lenses.
col_jeffer
Mark U, yes I was considering the 300V body only. Too bad I can't use the Olympus's objectives I have in the Canon body, especially I miss already the 55mm f1.2. But I guess Canon's 50 mm f1.8 will fit into my needs. lars_arvid_s.
There exists an OM to EOS adapter which let you use your existing Zuiko-lenses on EOS-bodies. Look at this thread (and others in the Olympus forum): OM-to-EOS
