Wide Angle Adapter for Hasselblad

Recommended Posts

Recently I am exploring the use of a 0.5x Wide Angle adapter on the

Hassy 80mm CT* fitted with a B50-52mm adapter. I believe the results

should be pretty good considering the quality of optics available

out there. Imagine a 40mm/f2.8 lens for less than $200?

Anyone with experience with such setups?? I saw the Kenko Pro II

0.5x wide angle adapter going for less than $100. Are they any good?

I believe the Kenko KVC 05II, a 5.x wideangle video camera auxillary (or add-on) lens, is a now discontinued item that sold for around $50. These types of converters are notoriously poor optically, and I don't think a 0.5x will double your wideangle coverage. I think it would be more like a 60mm.Your best bet would be to try one out before you buy.

Ken:

It is more like buying a Porsche convertible, slash the softtop, and then use it to drive in dirt track in Burma during the Monsoon season! And of course, as Mike says, with re-treads. Could be interesting.
