Here is one of those references, scroll to the bottom (it will say "Weight without batteries): <a href="http://www.adorama.com/NKAS17.html" >Nikon AS-17</a> I looked my AS-17 over real close and couldn't find any battery compartment. david_h._hartman Posted January 8, 2004 Share Posted January 8, 2004 Being bad, I took a peak inside mine. I wanted to see if it had any IC inside. I decided not to push my luck and that I didn�t want to get out a soldering iron in case I broke a wire at a solder joint so I didn�t remove the circuit board for a full look on the other side. There are two switches and some capacitors but no evidence of IC(s). Trust me, there is no place for a battery ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
