Is it true because I can't see any indication that it need so.I dont have a manual with it unfortunately.
haluro
Hendy, are you talking about the SC 17 extension cord?if so, it doesn't need a battery.Roberto
arnabdas
AS-17 is the F3 style flash hotshoe to ISO style flash mounting foot adapter. No, it does not require any battery.
roland_larson
No, AS-17 needs no battery.
david_h._hartman
No, set the ISO (may require using both controls) and go...
sb_smith
I can certainly understand your question. I had the same when I came across references on the web about batteries for the AS-17. Here is one of those references, scroll to the bottom (it will say "Weight without batteries): Nikon AS-17 I looked my AS-17 over real close and couldn't find any battery compartment. hendy_assan
Thank you everybody for the clarification. Same with SB Smith I'm confuse by the reference I read but now I presume it doesn't need any.
david_h._hartman
Being bad, I took a peak inside mine. I wanted to see if it had any IC inside. I decided not to push my luck and that I didnt want to get out a soldering iron in case I broke a wire at a solder joint so I didnt remove the circuit board for a full look on the other side. There are two switches and some capacitors but no evidence of IC(s). Trust me, there is no place for a battery ;)
