philip_hartlieb
I purchsed this bag from B and H through Tiffen (who is the manufacturer). I used the bag for month and in that time it was on my couch, onto my back, on my desk at work and back again. That is too say, far from extreme use. It then developed a tear in the nylon shell at the bottom. As this occurred in one month I felt that they might send me a new bag as i send the other off so i can continue shooting. (this was the only bag big enough to hold by rig). They refused. They won't make a move until i send the bag and play the waiting game. I felt that this was unreasonable in light of the tear inside of 30 days. I advise against this bag unless you enjoy downtime. Needless to say I had the Tailor sew it up for 8 bucks. Regardless, Im pissed.
Jerry_
Next time get the 'canvas' bag. Less problems. Unless you have a 'written' offer at the time of purchase, B&H Photo-Video did what was considered a good business practice: you send in the bag, they send you a replacement or forward the bag to Tiffen for adjustment. Nothing wrong or strange......
Spearhead
I wouldn't send you a replacement prior to a return. It's weird, people seem to expect that businesses use practices that will end their business. It would be so easy to abuse this, why would they do it? philip_hartlieb
A defective tear inside of a month on a 90 dollar product will end their business quicker than sending me a new bag. B and H was great. I'm dealing directly with Tiffen at this point. Not B and H. In any case, I accept their policy. The point of the post is that if you want to avoid this sort of thing avoid this bag. That's it.
awahlster
NOBODY will warrenty anything until you send them the damaged item back! Where are you from? Was the tear at a seam? or was it in the middle of the fabric? Was it casued by fatigue or part of your kit rubbing on it? And advising against a bag because you had something happen to yours is some what childish don't you think. After all we know no one but you has been able to determine why it got the tear. philip_hartlieb
Mark, IF YOU READ MY SECOND POST I SAID I ACCEPT THE POLICY. This is a forum where INDIVIDUALS POST SINGULAR STORIES THAT'S IMPLICIT. I stated 1. time uf use 2. type uf use The tear was at a seam. Take away what you will. I not going to take a poll of other FX-3 users before posting. That's the point. This gets rolled into the archive with all the other stories. philip_hartlieb
To be fair... in all other respects the bag is indeed pretty damn good....big and padded and incognito so far as other camera bags go...but im still a little bitter
