I suppose it was some sort of projector, but don't know if it was intended for displaying images on a screen or actually for making photographic enlargements. dan flanders Posted April 26, 2004 Share Posted April 26, 2004 In engineering parlance it is the part of a beam (unsupported at its end) that overhangs and projects beyond the girder, column, or other support.
