peter walker
This is not a question...
More a shout of jubulation...
Today I brought home my new Hasselblad!
After 10 years of use, my Bronica GS/1 had started to look a little worse for wear. So I want out shopping for a camera. Unfortunately I had a bit of money due to a recent contract win, so I decided to treat myself.
I bought a 205FCC with a couple of lens (80 amd 150), a 45 degree finder, motor winder and some filters. I am now completely broke...
But happy...
After a few hours of playing, I can tell you that this is a superb piece of equipment. I am looking forward to many creative hours in the field and studio.
Just thought I'd say something on this forum - just like announcing a new baby...
Regards Peter (Singapore)
rick_campbell
Instead of cigars, you can hand out rolls of Tri-X!
gene_crumpler6
Rick
On another thread, the nick name "hassie" is a corruption of the sentence"has he" any money left for film.
peter walker
Your both right.
Handing out Tri-X rolls would be more appropriate than cigars.
And, after buying the camera, I can only afford one roll of film and I want to use that in my new toy.
Regards Peter
robert_c_harvey
dear peter, congradulations, and welcome to the family ! You got the top of the line! No wonder you'rew broke ! I've been so happy with my 500 cm and the pm 45* finder. I added the acute-matte split and architectural grid screen, and that makes it even easier and faster. The cameras do inspire awe in those who use them, and the results that you can achieve . The prices are staggering though. After buying accesories by Hasselblad for a year, the price shock sort of wears off! A 50mm lense is next on my list , for landscapes and weddings. Then a 150, 40, 30... Maybe I can avail myself of one of those home equity loan solicitations that so frequently arrive at my door! Happy shooting, you have the best of the best! fabrice___
Why spend so much money when you could have bought a brand new Rollei 6008i kit for half what you paid just for the Hassy body! After months of trying to decide whether i should dump my whole Hasselblad system for a Rollei MF i finally did it and could not be happier. gene_crumpler6
Peter:
Enjoy your new camera. In all fairness, you may find that your enjoyment of photography and your photography its self will imporve now that you have your dream outfit. I remember when I got my first nikon F, I wanted to do more photogaphy and I think my work took a quantum leap forward in quality. I could have done the same quality of work with my old Yashica Pentamatic, but having a "Pro" camera in my hands inspired me to improve my work and try to get the most out of the new equipment.
Enjoy, life is short! artie
Hassie is Hassie Is Hassie. They are well worth the expense. Just A note, The prices in the caribbean on hasselblad duty free is roughly 25% cheaper than the best New York Prices. Example My 250mm which is over $3000 us dollars In NYC cost me $2250. in the Caribbean. But the warrant is only One year and obviouly you dont get the freebes or promos but if you figure the price of the freebes its still cheaper in the Islands.
