nikos
I saw this lens on auction: Zykkor super wide semi fish-eye 0.42x The seller doesn't seem to know anything about it or what cameras it would fit, and it's damn cheap. Would anyone know if it fits a Canon EOS or Yashica manual focus bodies?
darin_cozine
These are auxillary lenses made to screw into the filter ring of a lens. they usually fit into 37mm or 52mm threads. These are usually used in video cameras, and are not quality lenses.
nikos
Oh I see. Thanks for the explanation - I have never come across this sort of thing before, so I was a bit confused.
carl smith
Depending on the EOS camera you have the Zenitar 16mm 2.8 Fisheye in EOS mount might be a good alternative. You can get them for about $200 from Kiev camera and they're really quite good. Especially for the price. I have one for my Nikon FM, rather than for my EOS gear. stephen hazelton
I have a fairly inexpensive fish-eye adaptor probably similar to this one. It goes on a 50mm lens and gives a wide-angle fisheye view. It was fun to play around with a bit, but never really gave a sharp enough image to be useful for anything, and it now sits unused in my camera bag. I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, but the wide-angle look is not as pleasing as that through regular fisheyes. It seems like the image is less wide-angle at the center, then gets more squished together at the edges, as compared to a real fisheye.
NK Guy
Here's a review of a similar (if not identical) product:
 http://photonotes.org/reviews/fisheye-adapter/
Fun toy. Low quality.
