zone system target

Someone on the LF forum was asking about a zone system target. I was

thinking that it would be easy to print a target on an inkjet

printer. But then I thought about differences in ink and paper and

print drivers and it seemed a lot harder.

This is what I came up with. Print extra grey steps. Then use your

spot-meter to find the steps which correspond closest to the zone on

a meter reading. Mark those steps accordingly. Then make exposures

for zones 3-5.

I was thinking that you could also use this technique to verify that

your shutter speeds are correct on all your shutters. (assumiung you

have at least one good shutter and your development was correct (and

consistent).

I created a grid with 16 grey steps. Note that there is is no pure

white. The base white of the paper you print is used as white. I just

used a straight increase in values (0,16,32,48,64,etc). But perhaps a

logarthmic curve would work better.<div>007k4s-17112484.jpg.da269e77497cff281bb4ae784f1018d8.jpg</div>
