Zodiak 30mm fisheye -air bubbles in the glass

  1. HI,Recently I got Zodiak 30mm fisheye .when I`m looking thru the
    glass from the camera side I can see some air bubbles in the
    glass.Does it effect the picture and do I need to ask seller for
    exchange,or all lenses are the same quality.Thanks
     
  2. Bubbles are no big deal, but there a is a good deal of variance in the Kiev lenses from my experience. Take some photos and see if the colors are saturated and the contrast looks good. My 30mm was a dog even though it had no bubbles!

    Air bubbles are a problem for glass makers. This thread refers to bubbles in a large format lens:

    I couldn't easily find a reference easily to the fact that Leica users once regarded air bubbles as a sign of genuine Leica quality, but I will keep digging and prove it if I get flamed.
