bob_s__n.e._mass_
I'm getting a generic B&H screen from your hotlink- could you be more specific? Thanks- Bob
inspiration point studio
Oops, they are not accepting order yet, but the 50/1.4 will cost $624 and the 85/1.4 will cost $1,249.
ShunCheung
Go to B&H's home page and type "Zeiss ZF" into the search box on the top left side and you'll find them. The price for the 50mm/f1.4 seems to be considerably higher than what Yaron paid for his. Given that these are AI-S equivalent lenses, those prices are not very competitive. Robert DeCandido PhD
Hello, Didn't someone throw Yaron's lens 50mm Zeiss against the garage wall? If so, it makes his a designer lens, more or less. rdc/nyc
ky2
Not cheap.. :( where's that Distagon?
yeux tortu
The Distagon is available...... Just buy a CY adaptor and a EOS camera. Your AIS lenses will work too with the proper adaptor :)
ky2
I've tried that Ron :) unfortunately, I like my Fm3a and D200 too much... Much better than I liked my 1Ds/20D/EOS3.
carlos_miami
Popflash.com should have the Zeiss ZF in stock (despite the website stating otherwise). I got my copy from them last week and am very happy with their service.
steven_moseley1
Yaron...did you find a 75mm cap for the ZF hood yet? Cheers Steve.
franklin_z.___actually_a_s
Just a quick "BTW" here, if I may. Does the price of the Planar 50/1.4 justify buying it instead of a good used Nikon 50/1.4 AIS? Is it that much sharper? Does it have better contrast? Resistance to flare? Just wondering. Shun have you ever actuallly used a nice professional Zeiss lens? Zeiss are not in the photo business to be 'price competitive' they are in the business of making the best equipment your money can buy.
ShunCheung
Nino, if you have been reading my posts in this forum over the years, you would realize that I have a Contax 645 camera and two Zeiss lenses for it. Those are medium-format lenses so that a direct comparison is not entirely fair, but I have never understood what the big deal about Zeiss lenses is all about.
