jean_moxhet
Hi, I'm still "playing" with filters and clip-on lens found with my "new" Voigtlander (Bessa I and Perkeo II) recently bought on ebay. Today, I have a question about a Zeiss close-up lens ref: A 32 (that's the diameter) 975/1 Opton Proxar f=1m. It came with the Perkeo II but with instruction sheet. Is it somebody of you who knows the conversion distance ratio? Jean - Belgium
michael_gilday
I *believe* it's marked right on the filter - when focussed at "infinity", it should actually be at 1-meter focus. In fact, I'm almost positive of this, and that you have a "+1", or one-dioptre, Proxar. I have a "+2" Kodak Portra lens in Series VI, and it's "infinity focus" is 19.5 inches - pretty much exactly one-half meter. A diopter is a diopter, so if you find the instructions for any one-diopter closeup lens, it ought to work.

It looks like Proxars originally came in pretty nice cases, with both a focus and depth-of-field calculator attached; see this (ended) eBay auction - here.
Hope that helps.
