Zeiss again..

Recommended Posts

Tom A. on Rangefinderforum got one and took it on a trip and posted a review there and some pictures on flickr. Its really rectilinear. The 18mm also looks great. I am glad I have the CV 21mm for as often I shoot that wide its great at a third the price. Since I have something good I am not tempted to spend even more. But having said that If I had nothing and lots of money in the budget its a tough call as to which Zeiss lens the 18mm or 21 f4 to get. I find mostly my Zeiss 25mm f2.8 Biogon easier to compose with and wide enough for landscapes and buildings.

Laurent,

As much as I like to use the Zeiss lenses, I believe one should decide for himself on the basis of preference and type of shooting.

I do have the C Biogon 21/4.5, and this lens has just one drawback: it is only an f4.5 lens. As far as the rest is concerned, I haven't seen anything similar since the SWC has been released - this lens has no faults - you can see a couple of my shots here:

As far as the comparison between the Biogon 35 and Planar 50 against the Summicrons, the topic is broad, and you will find a lot of stuff here:
