mike_halliwell
If you pop over to here.. Nikon Z 6 | Interchangeable Lens Mirrorless Camera You see a guy in something resembling the powersuit worn by Sigourney Weaver.in Aliens. In these days of high-tech, he has really got to reach forward to press the little red button on the camera top plate to start, pause or stop video recording? or maybe the touch screen? But you gotta touch the camera..... There's no Nikon App, Nikon software or Remote or anything.....Is that really true?
Ed_Ingold
A release on the camera is not problem if you're shooting hand-held, nor on a tripod if you allow enough time for vibrations to settle. For cinematic productions, you would want an external recorder (e.g., Ninja Inferno or Ninja V), which not only gives you 10-bit 4,2,2, but eliminates the arbitrary 29 minute clip limit (with only half the heat buildup). There are or will be remote wired and wireless releases, probably via the USB port, for the Nikon Z's. Remote control via smart phones tend to be laggy, and often unreliable except in short term. mike_halliwell
"There are or will be remote wired and wireless releases, probably via the USB port, for the Nikon Z's." It's a natural assumption, agreed.. But Nikon hasn't bothered for any of it's previous cameras! Oh, apart from the P1000 and it's ML-L7.

All I see is Nikon's bog-standard product information page.... and pretty boring it is too! Much like the camera. Fairly underwhelming.
