Just out of curiosity, if you'd stop using any Leica bodies and lenses now, which camera and lens would you pick up next to do your routine photography (which you have been doing with your Leicas)? andrew_lee2 Posted September 30, 2003 Share Posted September 30, 2003 Oh gosh, probably a Pentax MX (or an LX, if I feel like 'splurging') and a small set of lenses: 50/1.4 and a 28/2.8, perhaps a 24/2.8 or 20/2.8 and 85/1.4 to round out the set (also if I feel like splurging, since these will probably be seeing very very little use). Save a cool two or three thousand this way, too. <p> If I really absolutely feel like a rangefinder still, a fixed-lens 40/1.7 Canon Canonet QL-17 G-III (whew) for about fifty or sixty bucks. al_kaplan1 Posted September 30, 2003 Share Posted September 30, 2003 I'd probably use my Rollieflex T, which is equipped with an F hood with the secondary mirror so you can focus while using the sportsfinder at eye level. Maybe start using the Veriwide 100 with it's 47mm Super Angulon again too! That would give me the equivalent of about a 40 and a 21 on on 35mm, or crop in to 35 frame size and I've got the 75mm lens on the Rollei for portraits! The biggest problem is getting used to only 12 or 7 pix per roll. And people here complain about a rewind KNOB being slow when you only have to change film every 36 frames!
