High water conditions in the valley closed most of the valley!

  2. I found this out the hard way - I must have missed the update by 5 minutes. Checked the weather this a.m., all looked good so I headed toward Yosemite for a (long-planned) vacation. 5 hours of driving later I was turned around at Wawona. Now it's another 5 hours later, back at home...

  3. Check out the confluence of the S. Fork of the Merced with the Merced along HWY 140. I left work early just so I could get over the bridge.

  4. Open again but it sure reminds us to check conditions - a lot!

  5. Doh...poor Jim, that must've been frustrating to get all that way and get turned back?

Was the flooding anything like back in '97(?) or just normal winter flooding?

  6. The valley isn't closed, just some of the roads.
