Yashica FX 7 Super

does anyone have/used a yashica fx 7 super ? just got one

in very good shape that came with a 50mm 1.9 yashica lens. have shot

two rolls thru it and was just so glad i bought it.(could even use

my zeiss lenses)was planning to buy the Contax AX, but found this

little manual gem instead.

 

want to hear your experience/complaints/tips on the use of

this camera.also if any of you have used it in extreme cold weather

and result ??

I had an FX-3, which is identical except that it's black and doesn't have 1/2000 sec. It was a great camera. I used it well into the -20s C and had no difficulty with it. Rewind slowly if you shoot in weather that cold, particularly if it's very dry.

 

The rubberized covering is very fragile and will eventually wear off. There is a website (forget the url - try http://www.cameraleather.com) that sells replacement leatherette that is way better than the original stuff.

thank you for the response Tim, and for the tip too. yep ! i've put 3 rolls thru it now and was amazed at the results.nice contrast even from the cheapie(yashica not yashicor) 50mm 1.9 lens that came with it.noticed the body covers are beginning to get loose. i just used a bit of glue and its ok. cheers ! .....pc
