Yashica 124~ born again

I picked up my 124 from the shop today, the damage was 45.00 for lens and mirror

re-alignment, everything else was good to go so she's born again! I had to run to the

park to shoot a test roll so here are a couple not so interesting pics:

 

(BTW, Tri-x rated at 200, souped in Xtol 1:3 for 9.5 min. at 68 deg. )

i have always wanted to play with a 124 mat but just have never picked one up.

 

years ago, i knew a guy who did wonderful things with a mamiya 330 or maybe it was a 220.

The middle ones actually not too bad. Might have been a bit better if you'd shot for the

square, but that's my own quirk. Thanks for sharing them, as anything from 124 is always

going to be fun. Hey at least it's Tri-X :)

On account of a bay buyer dropping out for the wrong reasons (shutter oil is not fungus) I picked up my 124G for about a third of the usual price, but spending a little extra would have been fine. About a month before that, I'd picked up a late model Pentax MX, and then spent double again on a CLA. That's money well spent in my view - they'll run for years to come.

Very nice, seems like the focus is fixed!

 

I like the toning you do - is this done in PS?

the toning is done in Photoshop using quadtones (black, two different browns and a

beige).
