steve_phillipps
The extender would work very much like a stills camera extender, and the quality shouldn't suffer noticeably. And you still get all your auto functions. But, at 1.6x it still doesn't make the lens very powerful. In 35mm terms it would give you something like a 1000mm lens-sounds a lot but in video terms it's not huge. Better bet I would think would be to buy an Canon's adaptor to put EOS lenses or a cheaper alternative buy a simple metal adaptor to use stills lenses (ie Nikon, Canon etc.) In this way you could buy a cheap 70-300 zoom or the like and have the equivalent of a 500-2100mm lens. I've used a 300mm f2.8 Nikon with 2x converter and the results are great. Check out www.lesbosher.co.uk. He makes the adaptors. Steve
