x-trans and Jupiter 8

Recommended Posts

The Jupiter 8 is one of my favorite lenses for 35mm film. I was pleased with its performance on my X-E1 -- the first digital camera I've bought since maybe 2006.

Steve Gallimore had written:

"Two of my favourite manual lenses on my X-E1 are the Konica 40mm f1.8 Hexanon (pancake, so 'normal size' with the adaptor) and the 'modern' 7artisans 35mm f1.2, which is a native Fuji X-mount lens with a vintage optical formula (CZ Sonnar)."

I have the Mark II of the 7Aritsans, but haven't had much chance of using it since it arrived due to a week+ of thunderstorms, The weather is finally clearing, so should have some examples soon. The Jupiter 8 is a Sonnar design.

The 7artisans 35mm f1.2 is about as close as you're going to get to a native crop sensor version of the Jupiter-3 50mm f1.5 (or the Zeiss original).
