harry_pluta3
I went to a reception this evening for a friend's daughter's wedding and while there I noticed one of my prints on her wall. It was done when I first bought my Epson 1270, not long after the printer came out. This picture is printed on Epson Heavyweight Matte Paper in the Super A3 size. The thing that caught my attention is that there are wrinkles appearing in the print. The frame is (semi) air-tight, the print is behind a matte and is mounted in a hanging fashion from the top. I have never noticed this in any of the Ciba-chrome prints I've done and this is the oldest of my Epson prints that I've seen. I am now concerned about the other Epson prints I've sold. Any one have any experiance with this? Thanks,
Nicholas Barry
I don't know about Heavyweight Matte but I've always printed on Archival Matte (on my 870 and 2200) and in the couple of years that I've been printing (most prints have been done on the 870 until I got the 2200) I've not seen any wrinkles. I usually allow the print to dry for a few hours and then set the print between some archival backing board and a sacrificial sheet of Archival Matte. All of this is then set underneath one of my large coffee table books for a day or so to be sure to press out any potential wrinkles. Seems to work so far using the same framing method that you use.
