Wouldn't it be easier to just edit an alert

Hi,<br>

I find that if I want to add or remove a word as an alert keyword, I

need to disable the older one and add a new one. Say I want an alert

every time the word G2 appears but a day later I want G2 or 10D, then

it appears I need to disable the first and add a new one. Wouldn't it

be easier for the user(less clutter) and easier for Photo.net (less

rows in your database) to simply allow an edit?<br>

I think it is a good idea. I'd also like a single page which combines

the general forum alerts (http://www.photo.net/pvt/alerts), the

alerts on specific threads ("Questions in which you've expressed an interest"

from http://www.photo.net/pvt/full-bboard-history) and the

photo critique alerts (http://www.photo.net/gallery/photocritique/add-alert#existingalerts)

all into one.

The combined page would then have Remove options for all three types of alert, Disable/Re-enable options for the photo critique and general forum alerts and an Add option for the general forum alerts.

If Brian approves, I'd be happy to give it a try.

(Don't know where I was when Severi asked...)

Instead of an email alert, I'd prefer a way to mark a thread so I can follow it on Photo.net. Is this something that can be done? This would be convenient even if I wasn't looking for new posts. Sometimes, I read in the morning before work but don't have time to reply until I come home. It can be a real hassle to search through all the read threads to find the one that I wanted to leave a reply.

Melissa,

What about creating a shortcut on your desktop? I don't know what you're using for software but for me it's as simple as right-clicking while in the thread and then selecting "create shortcut". An icon is added to my desktop and then I delete them later when I'm done reading or replying.

Stephen, a very practical solution! And for people who read photo.net at work but don't have time to post a reply: try the "File, Send Page" function (Mozilla) or the "File, Send, Link by E-mail" function (Internet Explorer) to mail yourself a link to a page you want to return to.
