jennifer_c
As Phil stated, yeah, I pretty much bought a small studio. I have been renting hotlights on and off and finally just took the plunge. Anyway, here are first shots of a person with my ABs. I would love any suggestions, opinions, whatever! Thanks to everyone for helping me learn. (ps - I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL I GET THE AS-15 ADAPTOR!) jennifer_c
Here is a second one... Any help on not posting these as a link? Thanks!
brooks short
Jennifer, I think these shots have a nice quality of light. You might try a couple of variations with some light on the background to create some seperation and add more depth to the shot. Maybe a hair light from above and behind. You could also try different positons of your key light to the left or right, closer and farther away from the lens axis or even overhead. Variations in the amount of fill either with a fill card closer or farther away or even from underneath the subject. But really, nice job.
brooks short
Almost forgot.....if you want your image to appear inserted rather than as an attachnment limit the long dimension to 5 inches and the dpi to 100.
adam_hemphill
An excellent start. Experiment, especially since you shoot digital!
jennifer_c
Just another addition... (hopefully this inserts)
jay_de_fehr
Hi Jennifer, and congratulations on your recent acquisitions. I don't mean this as a criticism, as it has nothing to do with your lighting, but your images look very soft on my monitor. Is it just me?
tom_menegatos
When you upload a file it has to be shorter than 540pixels wide (i think that's it. You also have to give it a caption.
will_perlis
"Is it just me?" Nope. They could use some sharpening as seen from my side of the screen. The lighting is good, tho'.
jennifer_c
I am resolved to accept that the lightness is due to me using my on camera flash to set off the other lights. I currently have a business card gerry-rigged to my camera to do this, but it definetely has an affect on the final image since there is so much extra spill light. I will post again once I get that adaptor. Thanks everyone!
