fewellp
Hi, I am looking for a safe and cost effective wind machine for use during portrait sessons in the studio. We have tried using regular fans, battery powered leaf blowers and the like. Does anyone have a good solution?
pico_digoliardi
Yes. Go to a rent-all place and get their industrial venting fan. It's large and heavy, so bring help. You will probably want to raise it from the floor, so place it on a bench. These are rather good because they are directional; the fan is inside a short tunnel or tube. h._p.
You can always use one of these but the pilot tends to get tired holding it on its side for long periods...<div></div>

wiseguyvisuals
patton fans are pretty strong little buggers. used to have a few around the house to sub for the air conditioning. they do get the air moving well. also try attaching a tube to the front of a fan to directionalize the air from it. thats how wind machines work i believe.
