mark_stephan2
I'm asking here because I haven't received a response from Sigma. I'm looking at a nice Sigma 105 f/2.8 OS macro. I found a Like New macro lens locally for $400.00. Seller doesn't know if it's Grey Market or Sigma USA. He bought it from an online seller on eBay last summer and never used it other than putting it on his camera to make sure it works.
Mark Keefer
Came across this. According to the article if the lens is Grey Market they will fix it for an added $250 fee on top of Parts and Labor. Ouch. LINK This link takes you to SIgma's web page and scrolling down covers the policy. LINK And one more LINK. Ken Katz
I have no idea if and how quickly Sigma will respond, but they should be able to tell you if the serial number associated with that lens is grey market or not. Perhaps a call to customer service will help.
