I think I've seen a thread like this at least once before, but it's always interesting to get new views on an open topic like this. My question for everyone is simple: Why do you take pictures? What is your 'photographic goal' as some would call it? What makes you tolerate this expensive hobby? Are there statements you'd like to make, stories you'd like to tell, or maybe just representations of beauty? Why do you click the shutter? For me my reasons for doing photography are twofold: First, I want to make prints for myself and have control over the images used to make the prints. Second, I use it as an artistic outlet, and as a challenge to enrich myself. Photography gives me a motivation to exit my shell and try new things, if only for the challenge of taking types of pictures I don't normally take.
