dan_south
Can anyone discuss how well these speed lights work with the radio control feature? Any problems?
mbkissel
Dan, I've been using them for a while now with perfect success. I had been using Pocket Wizards (Flex and Mini) but would occasionally get a misfire. In their defense, I've shot thousands of frames where they worked perfectly.

I also purchased the ST-E3-RT which has the identical interface as the flash units. Makes it easy to assign groups or set ratios. I'm very pleased with both.
dan_south
Thanks! Sounds like a great duo of products! I have always been impressed with my 580EX and am considering the upgrade.
mbkissel
On another forum, someone mentioned the Yongnuo YN-E3-RT as an alternate to the ST-E3-RT. It includes a built-in AF assist beam emitter which the Canon unit does not have; a useful feature in some situations.

Now, having said that, I have zero experience with Yongnuo products. So, I'm only passing this along; no experience using their flashes or wireless transmitters.

I've always liked my 580EX-II flashes, but I absolutely love the 600EX-RT primarily because of the much better interface.
