Which Visoflex for Konica Hexar RF?

The subject line says it all really.

I want to shoot macro on film with my Hexar RF. I have previously used a Leica

Visoflex III with an M7, but I sold both my M7 bodies and the Visoflex.

Probably a bad decision, because a Visoflex III sells for a lot more money now

that people realise they can use one on their M8.

So I am wondering if an earlier (and therefore cheaper) version of the Visoflex

would work with my Hexar RF. I am happy to use a turret finder as this will be

used for macro only. All my telephoto work is now digital so I use a Canon 5D

for that.

Any helpful advice will be very much appreciated.

if you already own a Canon macro lens for your 5d, wouldn't it be much, much cheaper to get an older Canon EOS film camera body, rather than try to mount a Visoflex on a Hexar RF?

you don't need a top-of-the-line body for this, the old EOS film bodies go for $100 or even $50...

I have a viso III and have used it on the Hexar HOWEVER you cannot use the arm to reach the shutter release. But I only used if for some copy work and raised the mirror before firing the camera. It can be done but it's no bed of roses in the handling department.

To Alan, thanks for your reply. I do have an old EOS 3 film body for this purpose, however I wanted a macro option for those times when I don't want to carry all my Canon gear.

The Visoflex will fit nicely in my Leica outfit case. I have had a space available every since I decided to sell my 135mm f/2.8 Tele Elmarit-M, although I haven't actually managed to sell it yet!

To Bill, thanks for your reply. I will have to modify the arm on any Visofles I buy.

That's another good reason for keeping costs down by buying a Viso II. The III is just too valuable to modify in this way.
