Which p&s has rear curtain sync flash?

Recommended Posts

The Ricoh GRD4 has both front and rear sync, and works well. Outstanding flash control overall for a built in pop-up flash.

The Ricoh GX100 has slow sync flash and it *appears* to be rear sync, but it's difficult to be sure. I'll need to try it at night. The GX100 flash is nowhere near as sophisticated and controllable as the GRD4. It's pretty much full pop on every flash shot. Even the GX100's "soft" flash setting and using minus EV exposure compensation offer only a little control, so there's no way to get the subtlety of the GRD4.

I've rechecked the GX100 flash as best I can. As far as I can tell it's simple front "curtain" slow sync flash - the flash fires at the beginning of the exposure. The GX100 flash can't be finessed manually so there's relatively little ghosting anyway with most slow sync flash photos.
