jbq
To answer the title question: it's one that I can't afford :)
jack paradise
Jean Baptiste, It was a tongue in cheek question. An Holga camera is a $20.00 piece of plastic crap made somewhere in China where they have never heard of quality control. But oh how it produces wonderful images that cannot be fully duplicated by Photoshop from any other camera in any price range above $20.00! sl attanapola
Try a Woca - a Holga with a GLASS lens! Wow! What more can you won't from a camera? I wonder if the lens is "telecentric"! :)
jbq
Jack - oh don't worry, I know the Holga, I have 2 of those. I even shoot slides in them (yes, crazy). I also have a $2 35mm camera (essentially worse than a disposable) that produces the same corner softness without the falloff, the light leaks, or the annoyance and cost of using 120. Oh, heck, my Lubitel has plenty of falloff (makes gorgeous slides when shot fairly open).
scott_eaton
Question: Are Leica users implying that people of Asian origin aren't capable of producing good optics? Is this genetic or something?
sl attanapola
BTW isn't the Holga a camera made in Russia? I think the name gives it away!
jbq
Scott: that's total BS. I've shot with lenses made in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Korea and Thailand, and none of those lenses was any less good than lenses made in other parts of the world and sold for the same price. Quite the opposite actually, I've bought lenses at prices where the only lenses available were coming from Asia. SL: Nope, thye're definitely made in China. jack paradise
"BTW isn't the Holga a camera made in Russia? I think the name gives it away!" Yes, Holga is a russian expatriate. She is now working is some obcure corner of China. She has recently been joined by her sister Woca who has made a significant contribution to lens resolution. :)
