Which camera would you choose?

Hi,

 

I have couple of options to choose among used cameras. They are:

 

- Olympus OM2

- Olympus OM10

- Minolta XG1

- Yashica FX-7

 

Can you please advise which option whould be better. And as per your idea what

price range in USD it could fall in.

Rizwan, these are all fairly old cameras, and though they were all good in their prime, the question now is which one is in best condition. All things being equal, I would go for the XG-1 (partly because there are a lot of very good lenses out there for it at rock bottom prices). Anyway, I repeat, condition is everything.

If all the cameras were in the exact same condition, I would tend to choose the XG-1, like Brian said. Minolta MD lenses tend to be cheaper now than Olympus OM and Yashica/Contax YM lenses. Some would argue that both Yashica ML and Olympus OM prime lenses have a greater reputation for sharpness than the Minolta lenses, but I think they're all pretty close, so I'd go on the basis of price for future aquisitions, just as Brian said.

I'm not familiar with an OM-2, but I do have an OM-1 and the main avantage is you don't need a battery to operate this camera body, and the Zuiko OM lenses are razor sharp. The OM10 isn't very popular.
