f_k2
What's the cheapest 70-200 2.8 for Minolta/Sony? The Sony one is $2000+, while the sigma one is $800, any cheaper lens? Older versions? 2nd hand? There doesn't seem to be any second hand lens for this system.
jamesdak
I have an old Tokina 80-200 f/2.8 that I've used over the years. It is an APO lens. Maybe you can find one of these. It was very highly rated when I got it in the early 1990s
craig_gillette
I'd expect the Tokina's might be the least expensive, if you can find one. Until Sony and maybe Sigma begin making and shipping them in quantity, prices on rare good performing lenses, new or used, will remain high and avaialbility likely quite limited. Other than auctions, and the random appearance on some of the forums dealing with either the Maxxum/A mountor simply sales of the "Maxxum" mount system items, it's going to be shear luck if you turn up a "good buy" at most stores these days. KEH periodically as a good used source, Dyxum as a forum.
dave_redmann
Minolta, Sigma, Tokina, and Tamrom all made Maxxum-mount constant f/2.8 zooms in the 70 or 80 to 200 or 210 range. There was a Minolta 80-200mm f/2.8 (different versions, optical changes?). I think the Tokina and Tamrom versions went out of production. Sigma had at least one or tow versions before the current one. Still, I can't imagine you will find any of these in good condition for less than $500 or so. jamesdak
$500 or more, wow! I hope I can get that for my Tokina 80-200mm f/2.8 when I put it on sale next week.
jamesdak
Not sure if this is allowed or not and if I'm in the wrong please delete this post: But, my Tokina 80-200 is available and posted at dyxum.com.
