I have visited Beijing Road in Guangzhou last year. but did not find any good camera or film (black and white) store. However, I found a small shop near White Swan hotel that sold stobes, tripods and other camera accessories. Not because I live in Hong Kong but this is what local Guangzhou people do - they come over during the weekend and buy photo equipment (and other things) to bring back home. I know - I've visited there many times and shot many jobs there. The above post is correct - they all flock to Hong Kong to buy gear anyhow. Search the archives here at Photo.net - there are many good places to buy new and used gear in Hong Kong. The middle class and economy of Guangzhou is not mature/developed enough to really make it profitable for a person to open a camera shot there and make a living at it - let alone provide great deals to anyone.
