Where To Buy In Thailand

I will be traveling to Thailand in January. Will need to purchase Dig SLR Body

and Lenses. Looking for a Canon retailer in Thailand who speaks English and

who you may have had a good experience with or at least feel you can recomend.

There are several canon dealerships in Bangkok, but the prices there are more then in north america. My suggestion is buy now, save later

I bought may Canon gears from Foto File in MBK. They have good price and range of products. Be sure to ask for international warrantee, and VAT refund documents.

I too use Foto File in Mah Boon Krong (enter at ground floor, turn left & it's on the LHS). They are very reliable, new equipment, know what they are doing & their prices are around 10% more than US prices.

When I was there a few months ago (just before the Tsunami) I found a wonderful place for a gadget freak like me. Maybe you would enjoy it as well and you will almost certainly find cameras to be bought there. The place is called Pantip Plaza on Phetburi / Petchburi Rd in the Pratunam district in Bangkok. 5 floors of electronics shops! Cameras, phones, computers, software (a lot of it illegal), music, any just about anything else you can imagine. I bought a photo archiving device that allowed me to take a whole lot more pictures that I would otherwise have been able to. It had a hard drive to store pictures, a CF slot to allow picture to be copied onto it and a screen to view the pictures. It has sadly lost all it's magic smoke and has had to be replaced but the memories of th Plaza live on.
