koval
I've had my EOS50 for 2 years and now its time to move on...I was looking around on the internet to see if there is any chance to save some pounds ( Iam in UK) but generaly most site offer the same prices. Then I looked on some American Site and that seems to make a diffrence.I just wonder if you guys know where I can find best deals, and feel safe by ordering from USA .What about warranty? If anything goes wrong, Do I need to send them back to USA ?Iam sure that you will be able to help me with that. Thanks in advance.
michael_monas1
You can't go wrong with B&H (www.bhphotovideo.com).
basscheffers
They are cheaper, but prices are not what they seem as this will most certainly be intercepted by Her Majesty's Customs to further drive down the royal family rents. To the price listed you should add the shipping charges and about 7% import duties, slap 17.5% VAT on the total and that is what you pay. That price starts to come remarkably close to the lowest UK prices.
When I recently went shopping I ended up at West Base Electronics at 219 Regent Street in London. Both them and Mifsuds advertise in Practical Photography and charge way less than rip-offs like Jessops. Both charge a cool 100 pound less for a EOS 33, for instance, and on lenses you can alse save a couple tenners to a hundred.
That said: I am in New York next month and I know where I will buy my next lens and smuggle it back...
Cheers,

kurt_heintzelman
In the U.S., I've found that WB Hunt's in Melrose, MA. offers prices that are often equal to, if not better than B&H, as well as customer service that is consistently quick, polite, patient, and responsive. basscheffers
Good luck Piotr. I haven't done business with Mifsuds, just saw their ads. West Base is not too knowledgable, but who cares if you know what you want anyway? Very well stocked too. While we are on the subject of London, for things like filters, tripods, bags and other accesoires, my favourite is Jacobs, across the road from Jessops ("Photographic retailer of the year", every year, for some reason) on New Oxford Street. They are reliably 10% cheaper than Jessops, 50% less busy and 100% more knowledgable. (I really don't like these Jessops folk, do I? :)
zahid naseem
Piotr, if you are in London it is also worth checking with York Cameras in Bury Street. Theye are probably the best Canaon shop in London, and will price match West Base. In addition, you get a very comprehensive service and product range from an official Canon specialist. If I use anyone in this country it is them.
richard_tynan2
I can vouch for Mifsuds. I've bought cameras and lenses from them with no problems. Their prices are some of the best in the UK
