where is spring east coast US?

Just thinking about a road trip and wondering where the line is that spring is

beginning. Has it made it to Philly yet?

Philadelphia? Just now, on the whole you'd rather be somewhere else.

 

I haven't looked, but the Skunk Cabbage should have bloomed in February as usual. Nothing else doing, not even the maple trees.

Hi Emily, It's just barely peeking out in SW Virginia - the daffodils have popped but that's about it. It was in the upper 60's today though, so I imagine it won't be much longer. Philly might be a week or two behind. Best wishes . . .

I know it's far from Philly, but it's quickly getting hot here in Atlanta. Other than temperature though, there are little signs of spring in this place. Not unless you count hot asphalt as one.

South Carolina is pretty nice. The bradford pears have almost finished. Our dogwoods are getting started and other flowering trees as well.<div></div>

I'd call it "early spring" here in D.C., at an elevation near zero. Daffodils out, star magnolias blooming, a few other flowers out but trees not yet leafing out. Not *quite* warm enough yet to call in sick and go for a hike.

It must be late for you guys. I'm over in Indianapolis and yesterday had my first two snake encounters of the spring.

Another photo.netter and I just got back from the FLA GA state line, just starting to happen. Here in KY its still 2 weeks away before it gets good. I would imagine Philly is at least that far away.

I'm just 2 hours north of Philly, and it's not spring here. Other than the rain. There are still patches of snow around despite the 3+ inches of rain we just got. I don't think we have spring here, come to think of it. Just Winter, then Summer, then Fall.

Here in the NC foothills, the trees are beginning to leaf. Dogwoods and apples starting to bloom. Today was beautiful! Cut the grass for the first time this year. Elevation here is about 1200 feet.
