frank_yang
I recently purchase a 24mm f2 Vivitar RL Edition lens and can't find anything about on the web. I also have a regular vivitar 24mm f2 and find the two virtually identical except the RL Edition label and I like to know if anybody out there know if there is any optical diffence between the regular and RL edition lens and is the RL edition a higher grade lens then the regular, better coating perhaps? Your imput is appreciated, thanks.
awahlster
The RL was the same lens as the non RL it just had more marketing hype and a better warrenty. NO optical advantage NO biuld quality advantage. Just hype.
russ_butner___portland__or
The Vivitar RL Edition lenses are identical to the non RL lenses. The only difference is that they came with a seven year warranty, as opposed to Vivitar's usual five year warranty. They came from the same assembly line. It was a marketing gimmick.
