What is the best software for organizing photos

1. I got a lot of pic in my comp(over 12000) and i was wondering what is the best software to
organize my photos.
Something simple and effective some thing like I photo but for a PC.
2. for a start and for free, try Google's Picasa software (http://picasa.google.com/). Also, Adobe offers has its free Album software (never used it).
3. I second the picasa suggestion - easy to use, effective and the price is right.
4. Imatch is pretty nice.

Photoshop Elements 3 has a nice organizer.

I like using named folders and Adobe Bridge.
5. I use iView MediaPro, see http://www.iview-multimedia.com for details. I have somewhere near 140,000 digital images in my library now and iView makes it sensible to browse, search and find, view, organize them.

6. I second iView--very easy to use and has an intuitive interface. Good luck.

7. People like iView better than the latest version of iPhoto? (I'm quite new at this and just use iPhoto).

iPhoto does not scale well. If you expect thousand of pictures, it is sorely lacking. On the long run you will want categorized sorting to answer queries like "show me all pictures of playing children that I shot between 2002 and 2003 where I still have the RAW files".

I use iMatch. On a Mac I would probably use iView Media Pro, but on the PC the where too late in the game for me.

9. I actually liked Picasa and the way it organizes photos, but two things led me to delete it from my computer. First, I discovered that it was loading adds into emails I sent using it, under the photos. So if you clicked the next button, you didn't get the next photo, you got an ad. That annoyed me. Secondly, I was never sure whether it was organizing my photos on my computer or whether it was an online storage area. In any cast, it seemed to be giving Google access to my files, so I got rid of it. But I did like its storage system. Kit
10. For someone like me, the only way my files will ever be organized is by setting my computer on fire after dumping it in gasoline, and starting over.

ACDSee is still my standard, and I find myself using the CS2 Browser very much lately...probably it will take over.

11. .

All work done in Picassa 2 is wasted outside Picassa 2. All work done outside Picass 2 is wasted inside Picassa 2.

I'm checking out iMatch from http://www.photools.com/ as it respects the physical layout of my hard drive and allows me to use other prograpms without loosing anything.
