jose_carlos
Could anyone tell me what the "focus limiter" switch does on the EF 300mm f/4 Lens? I know you can set it from 6 meters to infinity but what is the benefit of this? Many thanks!
mike_smith2
The lens "hunts less" whilst trying to focus lock, rather than going from minimum to maximum focus and thereby taking longer, it is scanning the range of 6 metres to infinity only. Therefore the only advantage/effect is the time the lens is taking to find focus. This can be critical for action sports situations, ie the difference between getting a shot and not, but not relevent if you are shooting static subjects. ron c sunshine coast, qld,a
a 6 meter limit may sound abit pointless but it's fairly close to a 300mm
