rokkor fan
I think this shot would be better posted in the critique section not the camera equipment forum.
lyle_gordon
If you look at the top left end of the light it looks like a plane with exhaust, you should check if you are near an air force base where they test planes, as the exhaust looks different then anything ive ever seen. ajpn
Looks like what? A jet with duel engines? This is a joke, right?

pc1
Alex, photo was taken in Hk, near the horse racing track,no horse races that day, very quiet evening. well, maybe they're testing a new breed of jet engines, i was only wondring why i didn't hear a sound. they've probably developed a new silencer for these engines ? the tightwad
I live in the midwest and we see this all the time. The plane is so high up that no sound reaches the ground. At time we see the trails "cross" from two or more planes but they look like they are the same altitude.
hal_bissinger
This could be serious. Have you reported it to the Department of Homeland Security yet? Bush will want to send somebody right over!
Brian
Paul, I don't understand what you are talking about. This is a photo of an airplane vapor trail. It would have been a novelty in the 1950s, but by now we've all seen a few.
dougmiles
"This is a photo of an airplane vapor trail. It would have been a novelty in the 1950s, but by now we've all seen a few." Right... It's actually called a "condensation trail" or "contrail" for short. Water vapor is a major component of airplane engine exhaust, so this is simply a cloud formed by the engines. This doesn't always happen; it takes the right temperature & humidity conditions at that altitude for the visible contrail to form. Military pilots may choose a different altitude to avoid making contrails. It tends to spread with time, so it's clear that in this picture the airplane must be at the upper left.
