I shot an off-road mountain bike race that took place on some trails that go through a swamp here in the sunshine state... It was a lot of fun, made me wish I had signed up to ride in the race! The area got about 3 inches of rain the night before so some of the trails were under about 6 inches of water, made for some very muddy riders. I was very disappointed that I wayyy overexposed the last shot posted here... This crash occured on the riders' first pass through this tough section of large tree roots and in the middle of the action I inadvertently turned the aperture control dial and opened it up to f2.8 (was set around f8 originally). All made with a Nikon D300, Tamron 28-75mm f2.8, and SB-800.

Linda - mine are shot with Canon 40D Sigma 70-200 2.8, handheld, ISO 3200, f/2.8, 1/400th to 1/640th.

I have been finding a far higher percentage of keepers since I stopped using my monopod with this set-up. It's bloody heavy though, with the battery grip on there.

I also do some color temp adjustment, clarity and vibrance boosted to +50, and some sharpening, typically 300/.35/0

HTH

Linda, since it was windy and clouds, I went with aperture priority (changing condition between sunny and cloudy) at ISO-200 for the 3 softball photos which were shot hand-held 300mm f2.8 wide open at 1/1600, 1/800, and 1/1600 respectively.

And for basketball, since lighting didn't change during game, I went with manual exposure at 1/500 sec., f2.8, ISO-640, custom WB for all 3 shots (all hand-held with 70-200mm f2.8, 300mm f2.8, and 70-200mm f2.8 in that order.)

Linda, mine are shot with Canon EOS Rebel xti, 70-300 f4 lens. I shoot handheld. I got

lazy and simply shot on the sport setting with the camera.

Here is the end of the weekend. A few minutes at a high school baseball game and then

NCAA D-III game between Wesleyan (CT) and Menlo College (CA)<br>
