What did you shoot? (4/17-4/19)

Shooting the same sporting events can lead to boredom and a lack of creativity, so I often look for different angles and perspectives from which to view the game. The following is the result of my wanderings.

00T79F-126487684.thumb.jpg.1f9c95c19c7214ed00bdb82a25f89674.jpg

Here are a few of my favorites from the 2009 Boston Marathon:
1) Masazumi Soejima (placed second in the wheel chair division) is pursuing the legendary Ernst Van Dyk - the race winner - at the 6 mile mark
2) Elva Dryer on her way to a 12th place finish
3) Danel Rono pursuring the leader and race winner Deriba Merga at the 20 mile mark.

Hope you enjoy.
George

Gary, I love the different angles. It seems that the same game produces the same pics, regardless of the players.

Peter, good to see you didn't get rained out and that you're back to shooting horses -- I don't understand crickett or rugby, but love the pictures anyway.

Victoria, we don't have lacrosse in our area, but the state is expanding and I'm noticing more and more schools starting teams. Our small school doesn't even have golf, tennis, or track. I love baseball and hate that our regular season is over -- 38 games wasn't enough. We're in the playoffs now, so I just take it week to week. I'll slip into depression after that ends ... :-)

Randall, I love the rain pictures. I shot part of one baseball game in the rain and loved the pictures right before the game was halted -- it looked like snow. I hope the girl in your last picture wasn't hurt because it certainly appears that she split in half!

George, I love the motion of your photos. It really gives you a feel for the fast pace.

I'm too busy to post my own right now, but will share some at a later time. Take care everyone. I look forward to next week's posts.
