eugene_scherba
Argyll CMS is free as in beer/freedom and is right now the only package to support monitor calibration on Linux. So far, Argyll CMS supports only the products you have listed, but soon it will include support for EyeOne display hardware as well.

Argyll CMS is a set of command line applications. I haven't performed monitor calibration with Argyll, but I used Argyll CMS for other purposes, and it produces quality output.
seon_ho_choi1
I have read bunch of things on monitor calibration. My brain is about to explode because of too much input in short period of time. :) According to many discussion and articles, I have to buy one of DTP41, 41T, DTP92, 94 Optix from X-rite and Spectrolino, SpectroScan, SpectroScan T from Gretag-Macbeth for use under Linux system. I also read about all these products are coming from one company X-rite after merge. A question is which package should I buy to get one of these sensors(?) since I don't find a sensor alone product? Another question is what sensor comes with Monaco Optix XR? I would appreciate any help in advance.
seon_ho_choi1
Eugene Thanks for your reply. Yes I read about Argyll and am planning to use it for my monitor calibration. But my questions is about buying the calibrator. I couldn't find the what package comes with what calibrator, the sensor. That is why I posted my question but I found at least one answer. According to an article posted in the forum at luminous-landscape.com Monaco Optix XR comes with DTP94 which I just ordered.
eugene_scherba
Hehe, sometimes I miss the actual question (disclosure: I only read the headline which was asking about "software package"). DTP-94 is the hardware that comes with Optix XR, and any basic Optix XR package should contain it. So get the cheapest one.
