Mike Gammill
A great look back. I'll bet those lens articles helped photographers considering the purchase of a telephoto lens to decide.

Julio Fernandez
Thanks again, Marc! The telephoto issue is a keeper. There is a good explanation of automatic exposure mechanisms. Wish I had read this, before embarking in certain home repair journeys. Keppler's column on telephoto lenses must have helped many amateurs to decide at the time, just as MIke said above. He makes very good points about not buying larger apertures than needed, and listing the subjects that one wants to cover. However, if the 135mm is so inadequate a focal length, how come it was the most popular? In the ads, I like that picture of the "loneliest job in the world" (obviously taken before social media appeared). There is also the Photomic finder, Zeiss-Ikon 35mm backs, Petri 7 and many other delights.
