john_doe112
I wonder if there is a website which compares weights of camera systems with a standard lens attached.
Maybe someone can tell me about the weight difference among Mamiya RB / RZ and Fuji G680 III. I'm currently shooting with a Hasselblad 500 c/m but like to inform myself about 6x7 and 6x8 systems.
philippderganz
i don´t know the exact numbers but the RZ is a lot lighter than the Fuji G680. It is possible to handhold the RZ for some time and shutter slap isn´t really an issue. the fuji 680 is huge and really heavy, tripod use mandatory.
Philipp
jim_momary
Mamiya RB67SD, incl. film back, WLF and 127mm std lens - 2690 grams.
Mamiya RZ67 ProII, incl film back, WLF and the 110mm lens - 2490 grams. (I think the 100mm is approx. 50 grams heavier than the 127mm.)
Fuji GX680III, incl. film back, WLF and 135mm std lens - 4070 grams.
Data from user/instruction manuals (Mamiya only user here).
david_henderson
There are of course smaller, lighter 67 systems than the ones you mention.

jim_krupnik
If flash sync at speeds faster than a sundial can measure is of any concern though, the Pentax 67 FP shutter with it's enormous mass is a deal breaker. The RZ67 "photo brick" is a beast of a camera, but it anchors a system that can answer most any call to duty. If nothing else, it's lens shutters with full sync to 1/400 sec, and it's mid roll interchangeable revolving film backs justify the modest bump in weight over the Pentax 67.

In either case though, the additional capture area of a 6x7 format camera compared to lesser formats is wonderful. To be fair, both systems are not much, if any heavier than a "decked out" Pro 35mm camera of the 70's and 80's. This is a pic of my Canon F1 with motor drive attached, next to an RZ67 camera. The motor drive is the standard unit for the "New F1", and takes 12 AA batteries. In the end, it weighs about the same as the RZ67 as shown here. Light weight is a relative thing......
I might be paranoid, but for some reason the IE browser sometimes distorts pictures posted, while Opera and Firefox do not. If this pic displays in distorted form on IE, just save it, and view it from your desktop to see it correctly.....
