allyn_saroyan
In Photoshop I cropped the image, converted it to B&W, removed the jet trail and crane, darkened the sky, and in On1 effects I added dynamic contrast, a vignette, and a brown tone.

mikehegarty01
Gerald very nice image. I used Gimp. I decided the bridge was the subject so I cropped in closer. I used luminosity mask to do some color toning and that is about it.
tom_r
Thanks again for the practice. I used about four different programs and forgot my steps. It's a twilight version attempt.

mikehegarty01
This is such a nice image I had another go with a little split toning. I used Gimp. I decided to use complementary colors blue and orange. First I d saturated the image and created luminosity mask. Then I created blue color adjustment layer for the shadows. Then I created an orange overlay layer for the highlights. Then used the luminosity mask to adjust color and contrast.

The Shadow
Mike, check the area where your railing and steps meet the water. ??? There’s always something new under the sun.
mikemorrell
Yes, you're right. I don't have any experience with 'constructing' images and this was my first attempt. To be honest, I wish I'd never started om a couple of edits :(. I have a couple of versions of this 'constructed image' and in previous versions, I did tidy up the area you (rightly) refer to. If I could update my posted photo, I would do. But I can't see any way of doing this on photo.net. In case, I never intended this photo as a 'fine work'. It was just for fun. But I agree, the area you refer to is not up to scratch, even by my standards! Mike Mike, check the area where your railing and steps meet the water. ???
The Shadow
Mike, kudos for the work you did. We all start somewhere and learn as we go. Figured it was an oversight and worth pointing out. Thanks for the response. Yes, if it’s not within the 10-minute edit period, a photo can’t be replaced. I think you did a nice job in creating the atmospheric mood you were going for. 2 There’s always something new under the sun.
PuntaColorada
Straightened the bridge and did some warping in PS and then used ON1 Photo Raw for dynamic contrast, tone control & border. After looking at this, I don't mean to project that everything goes downhill to the public broadcaster (BBC). I'm a Canuck and have enjoy both the CBC and BBC.
