  1. You are invited to upload one or more of your landscape photos and, if you’d like, to accompany your image with some commentary: challenges you faced in making the image? your intent for the image? settings? post-processing decisions? why you did what you did? the place and time? or an aspect you’d like feedback on? And please feel free to ask questions of others who have posted images or to join the discussion. If you don’t feel like using words, that’s OK too—unaccompanied images (or unaccompanied words, for that matter) are also very much welcomed. As for the technicalities, the usual forum guidelines apply: files < 1 MB; image size <1000 px maximum dimension.

I had gotten up early to catch the sunrise over Klamath Lake. It didn't work out quite as planned.

  2. Are those vapour trails?

  3. That's exactly what they are. There actually weren't a lot of planes flying over, but there was something about the atmospheric conditions that morning that kept the vapor trails from dispersing, and then the rising sun lit them all up from below.

  5. Happy first day of fall. Brown leaves, gray sky, all the stuff of California Dreamin'.

  6. Hi Leslie. Looks like it worked out well to me, but perhaps not what you anticipated. I believe that the leading lines of the contrails add interest to the sky and reflections in the water. The water is smooth and reflects the sky well with the clouds and mountain adding a little zing to the background. Klamath Lake looked good that day and I'll wager that you'll find that perfect morning shot sooner rather than later. - Best regards -- Mick
