  1. Thanks, Mike. Is the water level usually as high as the image shows?
  2. Shot at dawn from Jerome, Arizona, looking east toward Sedona. The haze isn't fog, but smoke from a long-burning wildfire in Munds Wilderness.

  3. Michael,
Yes it is a shallow lake and on the north end where this image was taken there tend to be a lot of trees growing in the water.
  4. Not a landscape, but its cousin, a skyscape...a screen capture from a timelapse I made of this year's Perseid Meteor Shower, from Big Sky, Montana.
The Andromeda Galaxy (2.5+ million lightyears away, is circled to the right--the oval smudge of light. Streaking past--the arrow--is a Perseid, prob 20-40 miles away. The northern limb of the Milky Way is in the big oval on the left. In the right lower center two smudges stand out...I think that is The Double Cluster in Perseus, about 7500 LY away. D810, 16-35. Hint: wait a day or so before you decide to delete all the frames you use in a timelapse. I wish I had.

  7. There is this foot bridge across the North Saskatchewan River at the SW corner of Edmonton. The luck part is getting the right cloud conditions, I also have taken pictures in the winter and with an IR converted Nikon D80 (much more dramatic B&W pix). This one is late August. Most recent shots of this area

I usually process in colour and B&W. But 4/5 times I like the B&W better. I went straight to B&W processing in the LR basic module because of the clouds. I maxed out the shadow slider to get the detail in the shadows and tweaked the others from there. Curves - selected strong contrast. Adjusted B&W mix,orange/yellow down, aqua/blue down. Mild vignette (IMO). Split Toning for warn effect
