brian_bahn
It's been a long while since I have been on the Olympus forum since I had switched from E510 to Nikon. I made the switch due to I do quite a bit of indoor sports and sports in general(please don't take that as a jab or provoking that's not at all what it's intended).

Anyhow last week I went on my annual deer hunting trip with my brothers, dad and nephews. Took the OM1 with a roll of Kodak CN400 B&W along. Again, I was reminded at just how enjoyable getting that little camera out and doing everything manually. Had the 28 3.5 and 135 3.5 along. This was the first time I actually put the 135 on it and used it. Nice lens!

When I first started getting into photography almost two years ago PN is where I started getting most of the info and since I had the OM1 in the closet at the time the Oly forum is where I got the most helpful info. Getting melonchaly here. haha. So I just wanted to post some pics from my trip and from a great little enjoyable camera. And I promised myself I WILL be getting it out more often.

starvy
brian,
i think you acquired your om1 around the same time i bought a cheap om40! does the meter work on your om1? the clarity and sharpness is rather good in these shots but i think the anowy condition had taken away a little contrast.
brian_bahn
Yes the meter works. I use the zinc air batteries with the o-ring(o ring helped a lot with holding it in place while replacing the cap. Unfortunatley the day was very gray and with the snow the contrast was sapped. I overexposed these by nearly a stop as well to brighten the snow up and they still look flat.
nicholas_herndon
Brian, fyi, if you overexpose BW400CN, it will come out low contrast. If you underexpose it will increase contrast. Just a weird quirk of 400CN. FWIW I really like the look of these shots.

patrick j dempsey
Next time try using a yellow filter. Using the in-camera meter you shouldn't have to do any exposure adjustments. It will make the snow really pop and darken up the trees etc.
mads_torben_christensen
And next time: Try to do something to avoid distorting the pictures when uploading them here: The trees may be very tall but I cannot believe that the two guys have such long faces as they appear to have on my monitor...
