stephen_w.
Mike, that's excellent. Is that Sake, since it's obvious to me that you are now in Japan, or Soju from the time you were in Korea? I have worked several jobs in both countries, talk about culture shock. It's the most interesting part of true travel to me.
stephen_w.
I will hazard a guess that it is Sake in Japan, because it appears to be heated and should be served at body temperature (37C = 98.6F). I am guessing the photo was shot with a pre-asph 50/1.4 Summilux. I will also add, that your photo has the "glow" I have been professing all along in previous threads. mike dixon
Thanks, Stephen. That shot was taken in Japan (it's sake being poured), but I'm still living in Korea. I've made a couple of brief trips over recently. I'm only three hours away from Fukuoka by hydroplane ferry.
mike dixon
Good call on the focal length and maximum aperture of the lens, but you're off on the make. It was a Canon EOS 50/1.4 (on a Canon 5D).
nels
Stephen - In case you decide to have a heart attack, please stay away from the keyboard and near a phone. Make sure the number keys for 9 and 1 on the phone have a glow.
stephen_w.
Mike, it is a great photo, IMHO, regardless of the make of camera. I know I could e-mail you privately regarding your recent change of gear, but, for the benefit of others that admire your work, why did you change formatJ? Fukuoka is the Disney Land of japan, at least when I was there in '91 for a Visa trip from a job in Ulsan, Korea(where all Hyndais were made).
